Tom Hingley and the Lovers are very pleased to announce they’ll be playing Manchester Ritz on October 28th. The gig is a fundraiser for Oxjam. Headlining are Monaco featuring the legendary Peter Hook – this is their first gig for a number of years. There’s loads of great acts on the bill with more to be announced. The new album by Tom Hingley and the Lovers – ‘Highlights’ – is finally complete and will be released March 2008. Release details will follow soon, but the album contains songs that touch on such universal themes as Love (‘Highlights’); Religion (‘All of My Time’); Lions (‘Venomous’);Credit Crunch (‘Kick Out The Clocks’) and the pretentious Manchester disteict of Chorlton-Cum-Hardy, where Tom can’t afford to buy a house (but he’s not at all bitter about it) (‘Evergreen’)

The Lovers will be celebrating the release of ‘Highlights with a gig at the Ruby Lounge, Manchester on Tuesday 15th April 2008. The Ruby Lounge is a fantastic new venue for Manchester and it promises to be a marvellous evening, not least because it’s Jason’s birthday, so come along and buy him a creme de menthe or 5! –
